Heath Krieger discovered pottery at the age of 14 and never looked back. Forty years later, he still challenges himself to develop new ideas as his pottery continues to evolve, influenced by his southwest surroundings. Form has always been of primary importance to him, the glaze being the final touch to a beautiful shape. In the 70's he studied Sumi-e brushwork with Mrs. Peter Shen at UCSD, incorporating this design element into his pottery.
Cathy married into this lifestyle in the 80's, contributing her art in the form of bronzes and painting, as well as clay. Her textured platters are her contribution to this body of work found at the Worthington Gallery.
Heath and Cathy have raised two boys and live near the Granite Mountain Wilderness area of Prescott, AZ.
